What a wonderful day..weather was just brilliant 30 + degrees…bit windy but conditions perfect for Motocross.
Considering the event was not advertised in the Coastal Calendar until late in the year and Perth City had 5 other major events the outcome was excellent.
Battista Fundraising Committee did an fantastic job selling T-shirts and raffle tickets and the ladies in the Coastal Canteen…were just amazing. For an event like this it takes 3 days of preparation for this canteen to be not just one of the best but THE BEST prepared canteen and excellent service. The ladies catered for everyone from vegetarian to the big meat eaters..every choice for the kids - lollies, ice pops, fresh fruit and fantastic home made cakes.
The day could not have been better with Jett Battista (Matt’s son) making his debut at 5 yrs old. His pit crew Nick Battista (his grandad) was chasing every corner when the wee lad came off..during his first race…it was a great site to see him race and all his cousins and female fans were there to cheer him on. I am sure we will see more of Jett…a star in the making.

Matt Battists had a great day although missed his wee boy’s debut. But heard from all the fans a blow by blow account.
This event will become part of the Coastal Calendar from now on and will be a pure fundraising day and known as Battista’s Bash. Funds raised will go towards Matt’s ongoing rehabilitation and a gold coin donation to a selected charity chosen by the club.
We would like to thank everyone for taking part and also to sponsors who donated produce, the wonderful volunteers along with everyone from Coastal Motorcycle Club who gave up their precious time to help make this a fabulous day.

Friday 9th October Ladies Night at South Fremantle Football Club was a great success.
