About Maulla Inc

The name Maulla is a nickname given to Matt Battista from his MotoX days as he would maul his way through the field.  This is why Maullainc.com was used as the website and Maulla Inc. as the association and Trustee for the Matt Battista Trust.

Matt Battista Superbike Champion of West Australia 2007 was leading the championship in 2008 when he sustained massive spinal injuries at Rd 3 June 29th 2008 in a racing incident.  He is paralysed from the chest down and has other associated injuries that are impacting on his recovery and independence.

This Trust was accepted as a Necessitous Circumstances Fund on behalf of Matt and the Trust Deed was settled on 14th August 2008 and the Association known as Maulla Inc. was endorsed by DOCEP 2nd October 2008.

The Fund is established for the provision of such necessary equipment and household alterations along with funding his current and long term medical expenses, including wheelchair and appropriate transportation vehicle.

The Trust Deed has provision for a Gift Fund Committee to provided support in fundraising activities.

Matt Battista Trust applied and is endorsed by the Australian Taxation Organisation (ATO) registered as a Direct Gift Recipient (DGR) and Tax Concession Charity (TCC).

The Commissioner for Consumer Protection, has approved the issuing of a licence to Maulla Inc as Trustee for Matt Battista Trust under the provision of the Charitabe Collections Act (1946).

Maulla Inc as Trustee for Matt Battista Trust has approval as a charitable organisation, to collect money or goods for the objects of the organisation being a charitable purpose as of the 17th November 2008.
